PHOENIX — Spotty monsoon storms will continue to impact a few isolated areas on Friday, but our forecast will be drying out across much of the state we head into the weekend.
As that drier air moves in, temperatures will heat up.
Phoenix will top out near 107 degrees on Friday and Saturday, which is right near normal for this time of year.
Monsoon moisture is expected to surge in again by Monday and Tuesday, bringing more scattered storms to southeastern Arizona and to the Arizona high country.
Here in the Valley, we'll see a slight chance of storms again late Monday and Tuesday as temperatures drop to around 105 degrees.
Early morning lows will stay in the 80s.
We are also tracking an Ozone High Pollution Advisory on Friday in the Valley.
Breathing in ozone pollution can lead to health impacts like chest pain, coughing, throat irritation, congestion and difficulty breathing. Kids, older adults and anyone with any kind of respiratory condition like asthma, bronchitis or COPD can be especially susceptible to the impacts of ozone pollution. So, limit your time outside in the afternoon when ozone pollution is peaking.
Everyone can help prevent the pollution problem from getting worse by carpooling, taking public transportation or working from home. Also, wait until after dark to fill up your gas-powered vehicles and avoid idling in long drive-thru lines.
